AFEW Scholarships cater to students in engineering and related courses to provide financial support while offering mentorship and advice in the engineering field.  AFEW offers scholarships both in Washington State and in the Philippines.
 
The Association of Filipino-American Engineers of Washington (AFEW) strives to assist selected Filipino university students in pursuing their careers in engineering or related trades through the Santi & Emelita Manalang Scholarship Foundation. The current allocation of funds for this scholarship is $2000 every year.
Eligibility

Scholarship criteria for Washington state students:

1. Filipino heritage (at least 50%)

2. Full-time enrollment as a university level engineering student with a minimum GPA of 3.2

3. Proof of pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related trade (Computer Science, Physics, Math)

4. Considerations of financial need

5. A short essay (inclusive in the AFEW form) about the scholars, including but not limited to the following topics:

     • Academic and scholastic achievements at school

     • Any community service involvement

     • Career goals and motivations

Application shall include personal profile and any supporting documentations to address the above criteria. Please email additional documents back to AFEW Scholarship committee to support your application.
