Little Bird Scholarship for LGBTQI Immigrants

Description
Awarding a total of $18,000 for up to two years of school, the Little Bird Scholarship provides a measure of financial stability to undergraduate students who are both LGBTQ or intersex and undocumented immigrants, including refugees and individuals seeking or granted asylum.
Formerly known as the Levin-Goffe Scholarship, the Little Bird Scholarship was established to help support undocumented immigrants pursuing higher education in New York City who also identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or intersex (LGBTQI).
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are all those who:
- self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or intersex;
- do not hold U.S. citizenship, a green card, or an F-1 visa, and are not an international student*;
- can prove enrollment at an accredited, nonprofit New York City college or university; and
- are rising juniors or seniors.
*Refugees and individuals seeking or granted asylum in the United States are eligible.
Please note that all application information is kept confidential. In addition, applicants do not need to include any information they feel unsafe sharing.

Applicants are required to complete an application, including two essays, and submit transcripts and one letter of recommendation.
