Eligibility

Eligibility Requirements for SME Education Foundation scholarships:

  • Must be a graduating high school senior
  • A U.S. citizen or a non-citizen eligible to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Must be Pell Grant eligible
  • Applying as a full-time student with a minimum GPA of 2.5
  • On a path toward an associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing engineering technology or a closely related engineering or technology discipline

Description
As college affordability becomes a mounting issue, the SME Education Foundation remains committed to helping students from all backgrounds break down financial barriers so they can pursue a career in manufacturing.

The Foundation is proud to announce its New Need-based Renewable Scholarships for graduating high school seniors.

Students have the opportunity to be considered for:

  • $20,000 award over four years (paid in $5,000 annual installments) for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree
  • $5,000 award over two years (paid in $2,500 installments) for students pursuing an associate degree

One scholarship application provides students with the opportunity to be considered for all Foundation scholarships. 

Procedure

Apply online  via the program website between Nov. 1-Feb. 1 each year.
