Description
The primary purpose of the Washington State Potato Foundation Scholarship Fund is to provide scholarships for he higher education of applicants who pay assessment to the Washington State Potato Commission or are commercial growser, processors, packers or shippers of Washington/Oregon potatoes or are employees or whose parents or guardians are employees of commercial growers, processors, packers or shippers of Washington/Oregon State potatoes and reside in the State of Washington/Oregon. Preference will be given to those who are pursuing an agriculture-related education.

Procedure
History

Established in 2000, the Washington State Potato Foundation recognizes the importance of promoting pride in the agricultural industry through education programs and scholarships throughout the Columbia Basin. Furthermore, the Scholarship committee is committed to bolster the quality of the workforce throughout the Columbia Basin. Over the years, the WSPF has awarded over 130 students a total of over $160,000 in funds to support farm families in their academic pursuit.
