Higher Education Scholarship Program
This scholarship provides financial assistance for Nez Perce citizens seeking higher education. The program processes tribal scholarship funds for eligible tribal higher education students to support their academic or vocational technical programs. Expand student support services to assist current or future scholarship students to successfully enroll and complete post-secondary degree programs.

(1) If you graduated in the 2018/19 school year, submit your diploma and final transcript to the Education Department to receive your graduation incentive
(2) The online application for Winter / Spring will be opened on October 1 .
Eligibility
Key application guidelines are as follows:
A. Tribal Enrollment: Each applicant must be an enrolled member of the Nez Perce Tribe and provide a copy of tribal ID or certificate of Indian Blood (CIB).
B. References: Each applicant must confirm three (3) people, who are not related to them, to act as a reference on the student’s character, personality, leadership, and scholastic qualities.
C. Accredited Schools: Each applicant must be accepted for enrollment in a state or regionally accredited college or university (includes accredited online colleges or universities). Trade schools that offer certification are allowed.
D. Verification of Other Financial Aid Resources: Students must provide information on other financial aid resources that they will use to fully fund the cost of attending their college/university or vocational technical program. It is the student’s responsibility to submit applications for federal, state, or college aid in a timely manner to ensure funding by the start of the term.
E. Submission: Applications will be submitted to Education Manager.

Procedure
For Winter and Spring, we are taking applications starting on October 1. The deadline for Winter Quarter/Spring Semester is January 15. The deadline for Spring Quarter is March 15. Applications received after the deadline will be given consideration based on the availability of funds. If funds are available, late applications may result in delayed receipt of funds by student and school.
All students apply with an online application. You will complete this application once a year. After you are accepted, then within the school year, you will submit your grades and schedule(s) to continue. (Except if you change degrees or transfer after Fall or Winter).
