Description
The purpose of the Aerospace Career Enhancement (ACE) Scholarship, in partnership with the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA), is to provide financial assistance to eligible American Indian and Alaska Native undergraduate and graduate students enrolled full-time at an accredited institution within Washington state’s public higher education systems. Applicants must have declared a major in engineering and other high-demand degrees that support professional and technical careers in the aerospace industry and be planning to enter a professional or technical career in the aerospace industry upon graduation.
The program will award two scholarships in the amount of $5,000 per academic year. This opportunity is a need-based award. Recipients with dependent children may be eligible for additional financial support of up to $5,000 to help cover childcare costs.
Eligibility
Students must meet these requirements to be considered:
- Be an enrolled member or a descendant of a federally or state-recognized American Indian Tribe or Alaska Native group.
- Be enrolled full-time at an accredited institution pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree within Washington State's public higher education systems.
- Declare a major in engineering and other high-demand degrees that support professional and technical careers in the aerospace industry and be planning to enter a professional or technical career in the aerospace industry upon graduation.
- Possess an unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
