Description
College students and graduating high school seniors who are planning to continue their study of French in a college or university in Washington are encouraged to apply. Seattle-Nantes Sister City Association offers three different scholarships, Goldmark, Dr. Thomas Bennett, and Frances Bennett. Each has their own specific requirements, but they all honor candidates with a lasting passion and successful academic studies in the French language and culture.
Eligibility
Requirements

Enrollment in a French class at a college or university in Washington in the application academic year

Each of the three scholarships has additional requirements; see Award Details
Preference
-
A major in French or Francophone studies, or
-
A minor in French or take at least two full years of courses, or
-
A concentration in French to support a program of study
Successful students will:
1. demonstrate a passion for French language and culture in the written application, and an interview which will be given in English to selected applicants,
2. furnish evidence of a satisfactory preparation in French which will indicate a lasting interest and successful academic studies in French language and culture, and
3. participate in the Seattle-Nantes Sister City Association by providing photos and updates during their study abroad to post on social media and upon return make a presentation of their study abroad experience to association membership.
