Description

The purpose of the endowed scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students associated with the BSU who are committed to social justice and/or doing work in underrepresented communities.

Eligibility
  • Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree at the University of Washington. Graduating Seniors are not eligible to apply
  • Must show commitment to social justice and political activism
  • Must be, to some extent, of regular attendance to Black Student Union meetings or events
  • Must be associated with EOP/OMAD

Procedure

In order to be considered, you must first meet the eligibility requirements and accurately fill out the information below. You must submit a 500-1000 word essay answering one of the following topic questions. You must also submit a most up-to-date resume.

The award recipient will be invite to be recognized at our annual fundraising event: The Legacy Soiree. This event will be held in the beginning of February 2020. 

The scholarship will be awarded in the following academic year. (Fall 2020)
