The Asian American Journalists Association is a national non-profit organization which works to encourage Asian Pacific American students to pursue journalism careers, increase employment of Asian Pacific American journalists, promote fair and accurate news coverage of Asian Pacific American issues, and provide a source of support for Asian Pacific American journalists.

Eligibility
AAJA offers many different types of scholarships, each with its own criteria and eligibility. Please check the website for the details. The general criteria for all scholarships are:
  • Be a graduating high school senior, or undergraduate or graduate student enrolled full-time (12 or more units) in an accredited college or university. Some scholarships are open to recent graduates.
  • AAJA membership is encouraged, but not always required.
  • Have a serious interest in pursuing a journalism career
  • Commitment to the field of journalism
  • Sensitivity to Asian American issues as demonstrated by community involvement
  • Journalistic ability
  • Scholastic ability
  • Financial need
